So, it’s been a few days longer than I would have liked, but I will write a quick update. We’ve been very busy with the training the last few days, trying to get as much in as possible, even our breaks have been filled with activities and training, so there hasn’t been much time to write.
Everything is still so awesome here. We went to the Farmers market on saturday….where the actual farmers/ growers come to sell their fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods, and coconut kefir. beautiful! Everything is so fresh. i bought some coconut kefir, macadamia nuts, dried bananas, bee pollen, and the group got a ton of fresh veggies and fruit.
A few days ago, we went to the Temple of Peace and did a brief “spa day” ( or hour). they had an outdoor Sauna, hot tub, steam room, etc. i tried to get a psychic reading at the cafe next door, but the lady had already left. Lol. Oh well. She must not have known i was coming. 🙂 actually, i heard she is a pretty amazing psychic. That evening, we also learned some Thai yoga massage techniques, which was great.
If you know me, then you know One of my pet peeves of living in the city is when you smile or wave at someone and say hello, and they look you directly in the eye, and not a word or smile comes back. I dont want to judge that person because its true that you just never know what someone may be going through, but still….i have a very hard time comprehending that. anyway, my point being, that I have not experienced that here. i do little experiments when i go to town to see, and always get a smile or an Aloha back. makes me happy! also, driving around, People actually stop to let you in…or cross the street. What a concept?!
Yesterday, we did some chakra testing and then designed our own Mandalas and painted them, which was fun and therapeutic. As we were doing our paintings, Scott (housemate who lives here) brought Mastin Kipp and his crew over to say hello. You may know of him, creator of “The Daily Love”; all about spreading love and acceptance. I heard he was on Oprah recently…he’s apparently in town for a week. Pretty nifty… We all gathered and chatted briefly over some Jackfruit. Oh, and last night, we caught some of the meteor shower. It’s so nice to see stars again!
Today, I taught my first 90 min yoga class as part of the training. It was great!! Although, I actually had 2 students come who had never done yoga before, which was a bit unexpected, but provided a great challenge for me to have to work through.
Sorry it’s so choppy, but its late and i have to get up early, but I will leave you with this quote that resonates with me from a book im reading… ” the deepest secret is that life is not a process of discovery, but a process of creation. Seek, therefore, not to find out Who you Are, but Who you want to Be” ( Neale Donald Walsch)
Nite ;). Aloha~
